Woodburner cowl lid has blow off

happenstance

It's like a big dinner plate. Doesn't look like it was welded onto the wire cage bit that now seems a bit out of shape.
Is there a way to reattach it? or does it need a whole new cowl?
thanks

These are bog standard cowls however you can get stainless steel ones
a lot more expensive.

Seems like such a waste to bin the whole thing rather than just re-attach the lid, must be a way to bolt it back on.0 -
Depends on your cowl but have a look at this one on ebay.
If you use the magnifier on the pic you can see that the top is bolted on.
I am you could rig something up if you are half way competent.

P.S.
Don't fall off your roof for the sake of a few quid !!0 -

Sadly I think it needs to be one like this that you can attach the liner to - https://www.glowing-embers.co.uk/chimney-and-flues-flexible-chimney-flue-liner-fitting-kits-c-70_72/kit-three-p-229?zenid=eeqt2kqcj78204oe9eoard64k0 important apparently for the draw and to not get carbon monoxide. I assume all these much cheaper cowls are for chimenys that dont have a liner? Looks alot more difficult to install and don't want to mess up the lining when the old one is taken off.
I would say its a bungalow that doesn't have a steep slope, but that's what Rod Hull had:(. I might as well try on the ground to see about bolting some bits onto it for few quid. Else it's looking like a £200+ job from a wood burner specialist0 -
All the cowls that I linked to are for flues with liners.
They just sit in the top of the liner & are then fixed to the pot.
Good job it's a bungalow !!

You need to know the inner and outer diameter of the flue.
Or just go up with some wire and re-attach the lid.....0
