Letter from QDR solicitors - CEL PCN - NHS

Hi All
I parked in a drop off zone space (which are restricted to 30 min stays) at CMCH earlier this year, as my wife was in labour and subsequently rushed into theatres for an emergency section and hence I was unable to move the car before receiving a PCN issued on behalf of Civil Enforcement Ltd.
I'd wrongly (or so it appears from reading the threads on here) ignored the PCN and the subsequent letters from ZZPS Ltd and have now received a letter from QDR Solicitors advising that I have 14 days pay £206 in full otherwise their 'litigation department' may look to obtain a CCJ - whilst I understand from reading several posts on here that I'm best to ignore letters from debt collectors, would it be worth making any complaint at this point
Also not sure if this is relevant, but the car was an old lease car which has since been returned to the lease company.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I would treat that as a badly-composed, misleading LBCCC, and adapt a version of the LBCCC reply suggested by Johnersh for a dreadful LBCCC sent by Wright Hassall Solicitors (obviously you will need to edit it to suit QDR instead).
You can find Johnersh's post with his draft complaint letter, linked in the NEWBIES thread post #2 about LBCCCs, or by searching this board for the unusual keyword 'cathartic' and change the default to SHOW POSTS (not threads).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks Coupon-Mad, much appreciated - I've drafted a complaint letter using Johnersh's template and so hopefully this will put an end to it.0

No, it won't.
It will end when CEL send a claim form and you defend, and they'll discontinue in the end (almost certainly). The reply to LBCCC is not designed to put an end to it. You will 99% likely win in the end, but it's not over yet.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ah ok, understood. I will send the letter and await the claim form.
Thanks again for your help!0 -
Also bear in mind that QDR solicitors are also the debt collection arm of Wright Hassall and like all debt collectors they are economical with the truth.
"QDR Solicitors advising that I have 14 days pay £206 in full otherwise their 'litigation department' may look to obtain a CCJ"
That is just totally scaremongering and misleading, and the original charge cannot possibly be £206 this is just greedy debt collection fees added on, that could not be claimed if it went to court.0 -
so hopefully this will put an end to it.
Very unlikely, WH are renowned for chasing lost causes. If you fight them you may cost them a lot of money, £200 is well OTT.
Also, under new regulations, they have to jump through myriad hoops before they can take you to court.
This is not painting by numbers, but giving a firm of solicitors trying to con you a good hiding is surely not to be sneezed at.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Thank you both - I'll be sending the LBCCC reply today. . . but it's reassuring to hear about the new regs The Deep refers to.
Will post an update once I hear back.
Thanks again all.0 -
have you tried complaining to PALS yet

"and have now received a letter from QDR Solicitors advising that I have 14 days pay £206 in full otherwise their 'litigation department' may look to obtain a CCJ "
Such letters are menacing and scaremongering and if
this goes to court, this should be brought to the attention
of the judge.
NO litigation dept can look to obtain a CCJ and this letter
clearly shows their total lack of knowledge
If you go to court, it's then 50/50 who will win and that
depends on the judge and his/her understanding and of
course your evidence.
If you lost (doubtful), even a judge would not look to obtain
a CCJ, it's not his job ... how and why does a litigation dept
of solicitors think they are god and a judge ??
If you lost, you would then receive a letter from the court
with the courts decision and be given up to 28 days to pay.
Only if you do not pay would you get a CCJ on your
credit file
A County Court Judgement is where a judge rules against you,
and it is only rubber stamped if you do not pay within
the time period
Solicitors know that "CCJ" will scare you and to most people
means a mark on your credit file.
The words of this solicitor are misleading (not unusual when it
comes to the great parking scam), they are highly unprofessional
Such letters from those who fabricate in an attempt to extort
money from anyone should be reported to Trading Standards
and to your local MP for investigation1 -
Thanks Ralph and beamerguy - I will forward my letter on to Trading Standards and also contact PALS for central Manchester hospitals
As you say the words are very misleading as they list a number of 'possible impacts of having a CCJ registered against me', which as you rightly point out is just scaremongering0
