Leaving BT

I have just got off the phone from BT to cancel my broadband, I am going to move to Plusnet.
£18 a month cheaper, and £70 cash back.
However been told by BT I need to give 30 days notice, before I can move to Plusnet, I am out of contract with BT. I want to take Plusnet offer up as the cash back offer ends tomorrow.
So it looks like I will have to pay BT and Plusnet for the month that overlaps, or will Plusnet delay the date of their service starting?
Thanks Stuart.

Nah. Just sign up with plusnet and they will sort the rest.
Takes about 2 weeks to move over.
Bt should send u a refund unless you are still within minimum term0 -
It's only 14 days notice for broadband, and your new supplier will automatically set that going.
You do know Plusnet is only 1.9meg upload speed, 38meg download, pretty poor as almost everyone elses 38meg download gives around 10meg upload.
I was ready to go for it till I saw that.0 -
Hi John
wasn't aware of the upload speed, we are on 6ish with BT but don't do a lot of uploading.
Any other recommendations?
Would like to sort out today, in a rural location so get hit for higher charges,

Sky broadband is good value especially if you have their tv service.
I am personally with Virgin vivid 300 Ultra fast but my work is internet based so can justify the extra cost all though I get about 320 download (advertised at upto 300) yet my upload is only 21.76 and I only pay £45 a month for it from a sign up promo. Ideally I would like a lot faster upload as I send files by gigabytes- terabytes in size But the UK has never really had a great upload speed. If virgin offered a 150 download and 150 upload of my broadband I would take it instantly. However 20 upload lets me stream to multiple platforms at 4k without any issues just file transfers that are large can take a while.0 -

EE are doing 38mb download and 10 Upload for £28.50, topcashback is doing £125 cashback. Pay line rental upfront and its equivalent to just under £20. Unfortunately there's an additional £32 one off set up cost.0 -
EE doesn't cover us.
Do we need a high upload? Don't think so, we mainly are just surfing or downloading movies, some pictures uploaded to the cloud.
Does the chrome cast use upload? Sorry if thats a silly question.0 -
