I've fitted mine in the sunglasses holder in the roof console. It stays shut most of the time because I rarely switch from Planet Rock on DAB.

My wife's was fitted on the centre console and I still umming and arring over whether to fit the original Highway in her new car or go for the newer 400 unit. No need for the 600 as the car has Bluetooth phone built in.

I'm not keen on things stuck to the windscreen.

I like that idea, where does the power lead go though?

The the power and line-out leads are routed under the headlining and down the A-pillar trim to behind the dash. The aerial lead is routed under the headlining back to the rear window where it connects to a glass-mount external aerial.

Would I be correct in thinking the power lead goes to the cigarrette lighter and an aux style lead to a 3.5mm jack?

No, it's an older car. 2010.

I’ve just fitted a 2010 ford dab radio to my 2005 focus. Steering wheel controls work as does the dimming when lights are on etc. Uses existing roof aerial too.

The power lead eventually ends up in a USB power port in the centre armrest cubby box. Yes, the line-out ends in a (right angle) 3.5mm jack and exits from a dash cubby hole directly below the radio Aux port. There are no trailing wires. Another of my pet hates.

See my OCD demands there be no visible wires. I like your ideas.

I have a Kenwood DAB double DIN receiver. It works well.
Got a glass mounted Aeriel, managed to hide the wire in the trim.

The ones with detachable face plates always seem to break, the buttons stop working etc. That's why I got one that doesn't have a detatchable faceplate
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.
