Hey Dudes,

My commute has increased considerably and I want to get a DAB receiver so I can listen to what I like on the way to work.

Does anyone have any personal recommendations? The choice is pretty varied!

Why specifically do you need DAB, what stations are you listening to?

Planet Rock, Team Rock, R4, talk sport.

I thought about plugging the phone into the aux port, and running an App, but that seems to burn my battery enormously!

Radioplayer car or Justconnect are good but pricey options, but they have good reception and fit behind your current radio so they don't stand out like a sore thumb like some of the cheaper plug in adaptors do.

I've fitted a couple of the original Pure Highways to mine and my wife's cars so we can listen to Planet Rock, although she also listens to the Absolute 90's stations too, and they work fine. My car has an external aerial and hers has the stick on Highway internal aerial. The stick on one is surprisingly good.

My wife has just got a new car and I'm considering getting one of the new Highways as installation is easier.

Where did they go? Are they stuck on the windscreen like a satnav?

  • Pure Highway 600 gets good reviews but isn't cheap, albeit I've just ordered one so I'll be either pleased or disappointed in a few weeks...

Team Rock left the DAB platform a couple of years ago.

I have a Pure Highway, works well.

Was a DAB stereo an optional extra on your car? You might be able to retro fit an OEM one therefore keeping the look standard + retaining steering wheel controls etc.

I've fitted mine in the sunglasses holder in the roof console. It stays shut most of the time because I rarely switch from Planet Rock on DAB.

My wife's was fitted on the centre console and I still umming and arring over whether to fit the original Highway in her new car or go for the newer 400 unit. No need for the 600 as the car has Bluetooth phone built in.

I'm not keen on things stuck to the windscreen.

No, it's an older car. 2010.
