    If the clunking is irregular it could be the exhaust hitting something caused by poor engine running/intermittent misfire. For the first few miles the choke will be on which the ecu might not be controlling properly after water getting in somewhere.

    The poor running might be the reason the stop/start has been disabled.

    Thanks. It is only when I first started driving though - for like 5 minutes and only when I was braking to come to a stop. No other time. I will have to see if it does it again later on!
