Is this broken recliner fixable?

I bought a 2nd hand recliner on eBay recently. After about 4 hours normal use in total, the chair snapped off the base pole. I can’t post pictures for some reason but it’s broken off right at the top of the swivel base tube.
Is it possible to fix this at all with replacement parts or is the chair a write off? The chair is a Rom Escapade.
Any help appreciated

I looked at a picture of one on Auntie Google and it looks like you can replace the part (IF it is available) and depending upon he type of chair. Try looking at spare parts for recliners on-line. You can post a picture by uploading it to a picture hosting site such as tinypic.0

Still don't seem to be able to add links to images but the below might work.

That doesn't look like a proper tinypic link. Just copy and past the link into your post and then edit it with some spaces and we will fix it for you.0

Can't you see the image if you paste the URL I posted into google?
I've had a look at some spare parts sites for recliners but they don't seem to be for the same type of chair and without knowing the correct terms for the parts my searches aren't up to much.0 -
I can see it from the link. Take the plate off the chair, remove the tube from the base. Get somebody to weld them back together. Local garage might do it if you.0

Really? That would hold OK with daily use? I could certainly make some calls to local places. Would need to be pretty cheap though.0

Have you asked the manufacturer? info@romsofas.co.uk0

It should do if it's done properly, it's difficult to see how it was joined in the first place, weld or threaded.
It might want extra work to fit the tube into the plate before welding, to allow it to be welded from both sides. Clean the paint off around the area as well. Things like this often are welded though. The weld if done properly is as strong as the parent metal, as it actually penetrates the metal and becomes part of it.
Having said that, if I was doing it myself, I'd probably look at possible ways to further strengthen it.
Any decent welder will tell you if it's repairable this way.
Should be relatively cheap to do.0 -
