But it doesn't require a DD, at least mine doesn't.

My Yorkshire needs 2 direct debits - it only dates from April 2016 when it was giving me about £5 a month in interest.

This is the silver lining regarding loosing the Tesco savings direct debit facility - its making us look at our accounts in depth and thinking are they really paying their way and are they worth the effort to get minimal amounts of savings

I set one up yesterday from the app, to pull through for the 1st November, so still works for now :-)

Interesting. On the PayPal forums some people are reporting it's OK, some that it's missing while others are getting error messages and codes when trying to set them up as if it was a phased roll-back. I suppose the problem is that since you need to set them up manually each time you could get in a jam and not be able to set up a replacement in a hurry, which would be ironic as PayPal has always been handy for an emergency DD. Let us know how it goes

2DDs will only be needed by people seeking to switch current account to HSBC advance aiming £150 rewards.

£1,750 per month is sufficient to keep the account running.

Thanks, that's one thing less to worry about.
Anyone know about Nationwide Flexaccount? My Flexdirect ends in April 2018 - good timing to have DD cancelled. I need to move it to Flexaccount to keep the saving account going - does Flexaccount require DD?

Can we not just all set up PayPal direct debits and 'send' money to ourselves every month via a different email address (and therefore PayPal account)?

    E.g

PayPal account 1 pulls £1 by direct debit from my Halifax Reward account and sends to another personal email address I have registered with PayPal account 2.

I login to PayPal account 2 and withdraw the money.

No and neither does your FlexDirect. Are you confusing Direct debits with Standing Orders?
  • Does anyone know that if I open up a post office online saver and link it to my nominated account (say BOS for example). Can I then use the Online Saver to pull two direct debits from the same nominated account (BOS in this example) and will they be treated as two different direct debits for BOS' funding requirements purposes?

Just to confirm, I've set up 8 DDs within the past week via PP with my online browser. You can only add 4 DDs at a time - once they're set up on your bank account, you can add more. 8 is the maximum number of DDs that can be present on your PP account. There are 3 different ways to pull/request money via the DD; all of which have been mentioned within this thread. Unfortunately, they have to be done manually every month.

That's the last you'll hear from me about this.

    Sorry ceredigion

You could (see below) but people have been saying PayPal has stopped DDs from the web interface. You could try to test it and report your finding here.

But it is still doable from mobile app.
For some people pulling money to PayPal manually each month one by one from mobile device is hardwork.

But it is useful for temporary solution if you do not have enough DDs to meet your needs.
