  • I've got a annual DD for Legal & General and a monthly DD. M&S requirement is active so any DD will be OK i.e. annually, quarterly etc. A DD is active until it becomes dormant which is about 13 months.

I am going to do nowt and will wait to see wot happens next April/May. I bet that between Tesco and the other banks, there will be some sort of fiasco and c*** up. Tesco will have a lot of d/debits to cancel and I will be intrigued to see if they actually cancel them.

I know what I am going to do if anyone stops my monthly bonuses due to a lack of d/debits.

I will be complaining to Tesco but they have not formally advised me yet.

April 22, 2018 is still few months away. You will be receiving notification in the due course.

Are you aware that they are within their right to amend the T&C.

Finding a source of DD and even you have found few setting them are not as easy as setting up SOs.

So good luck then with your complaint ...

Does anyone else could share their personal experience that 2 DDs paid annually[STRIKE] to[/STRIKE] from M&S current AC will meet the DDs requirement for M&S RS account ??

    Fixed that for you.

And for those who are confused by the DD process

Just learned of this - I'll lose out on interest/rewards from Lloyds, Co-op, TSB, 6 Halifax, HSBC, Barclays and my recent Danske Bank.

    What a bummer!!

Is there a readily accessible list of alternatives?

There's a long running thread, but the list has not been updated recently.

No letter yet from Tesco, but I note that they've updated the Internet Saver Terms and Conditions to reflect the changes from 22nd April 2018.

No pulling DDs and external payments limited "to a Linked Account held in your name with another bank in the UK"

    http://www.tescobank.com/savings/flexible/internet-saver/index.html#terms-2
But still stating DD as a method of funding in the advertising blurb. :o
  • Page 4 clearly states the new terms including cancelling all direct debits set up on the account/s.
