    Well I have cleaned the living room carpet and because I made too much cleaning solution and couldn't bear to waste it I dragged the cleaner upstairs. It's big and bulky but not so heavy with the water tank taken off but I've shampooed the carpets upstairs too. I'm sitting here, no heating on, air con and dehumidifier running to dry the damp carpets. Ive just had a warm bath to warm me up...I'll leave them running another hour or so or until I start shivering again.

    The question about the freezer came from nowhere really. My larder type freezer is working fine but it's so big it takes up a big chunk of my kitchen. When it does get replaced, I know I'll need a decent sized fridge but not sure about the freezer. I could try not using the freezer for a week or two to see how I get on.

    Hester not long to go. :)

  • JUDI I'd be totally lost without my freezers. I have an upright and a chest one and they are both packed. Fortunately they are in the garage so they are out of the way and I can access the garage from the kitchen.

    If I spotted some good reductions and had nowhere to hoard them I'd be livid! Like this morning when I saw quite a few packs of chops (both lamb and pork) and a bag of chicken fillets all ys to half price. In my trolley they went! So I fell at the first hurdle with my good intention of eating from the freezers and not buying anything else to put in there!

    We now have rain so the forecast was right. And it's feeling a bit nippy. I am delaying putting the fire on till the DGDs and DD arrive for tea if I can. DS rang this morning so see if my cafe was open if he called for lunch on his way to work! I quickly threw a quiche in the oven with a few oven chips, plated it up with some salad and it was enjoyed by both he and Mr TA. The Bolognese Bake for tea is all ready to put in the oven for DGDs arrival so just something to make for veggie DD now. I sometimes do feel I am running a cafe!

    Is HESTER free yet? I'm sure I can here the whooping way up here! xx

  • I'm free, I have been since two o'clock.
    I've come home laden with gifts, all very nice but where do I put them, also some gift vouchers, always useful.
    I was given lots of chocolate and have given some to my grandchildren.
    The head made a nice farewell speech about me, she was expecting my line manager to say something but she declined.
    I couldn't decide if it still hadn't sunk in or if I really didn't care. I really don't care and am glad to have left.
    I'm out for a celebratory meal tonight which will be nice.
    Chin up, Titus out.

    Congratulations Hester :j:j:j:j:beer::beer::beer::beer:

    So glad you are out of there. It is telling that the line manager could not say a few words. Sums up her intellect, lack of style and decency.

    I went to York to meet a dd and celebrate her birthday and have a meal. Bought a nice watch for her and her twin sister and got her a trilogy of books and a jumper. Her twin sister comes round tomorrow and I have some presents ready for her all wrapped.

    Youngest dd is due to come over around seven and not sure how many days she is staying or when her sisters and bfs are staying over here at the weekend but all the beds are freshly made up and I am sure we will muddle through. ;)

    Not sure whether to cook sausages and mash or steak with mushrooms and actifry chips for tonight. Last time she came round I had cooked something specially only to find she had stopped for a burger and was not hungry.

    Hugs to all
