Is it possible to renew my ISP contract when it ends?

Hello there,

I was curious if it is at all possible to renew my contract when it ends next month? What I mean is, I am currently paying £21 month to SSE for Phone and Fibre which was a great deal when I signed up almost 18 months ago and I have had no problem at all. I haven't missed a payment or made any complaints to SSE regarding my phone and broadband.

I am looking to keep this deal for as long as I am able, could I call their customer service department and ask for an extra 12 months when this contract ends?

Thanks for your time :)

Check out what deal SSE offer to new customers and also what deal you could get elsewhere then ring and negotiate.
  • Their current fibre deal is £28 a month (for energy users, £5 surcharge for others) with a monthly package price fixed for 3 years and with a no fixed term contract (rolling monthly) . Whether they'd do it for £21 for an existing customer only they can answer.

Can you 'renew' your contract when it ends next month ?, your contract doesn't really end next month, it's just you have reached the end of the offer period or the minimum term, (or both) the 'contract' just becomes a standard 30 day notice contract (or whatever SSE's standard terms are).
As far as can you negotiate a new deal for £21/month (the same as the deal that's about to expire) ..you will only know if you ask them, it could be as an existing customer the deal they offer may not be as good as what a 'new' customer may get or it could be that the SSE 'retentions' staff may be able to offer a comparable or better deal, in return for a new minimum term, but it really is something you need to ask SSE yourself.
