Extremely expensive VED??
Comments

I stand corrected - it's always confused me a little with the odd and apparently random changeover dates for different aspects
Still, it's the same model year 2000 car that was in production before the change and that costs £45 a year less!0 -
And there are even bigger disparities at the 2006 addition of the top two bands - which was mid-month (day after the budget). Cars registered a day apart could have double the VED.
<shrug>
If you'd bought a Focus, you'd probably have seen the VED cheaper for being that few months later.
Any time there's a changeover date, some people are winners, some are losers.0 -
When did she buy it as the prices may have gone up in the meantime.0

£240 for 12 months!! :eek:
Unbelievable! Surely this can't be right? On the log book, it says the emissions are '0'. Weird, obviously that's not right, but it's a EURO 5 engine with about 136-138 do-dah of emissions. Yes, it's also registered as a PLG type vehicle. But she plans to use it as a car/camper with no goods or business use at all.
Her van is a 2012 NV200. She did her research and was sure it should've been more like £140?? Where does she stand, please?
So, he or she?
or you? https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5727486

You're talking about a £8.33/month discrepancy. Her only options really are to sell it at some significant loss, or to just put up with it. It'll be insignificant compared to maintenance, fuel, tax, repayments and so on. How much did you pay?0 -
