I am new to the forum and was about to ask the same question. There doesn't seem to be much about for 18 year olds starting Y13 at school. Having read your post and this thread, we've just applied online for the Santander Mini 123 account as my son is a couple of weeks off his 18th birthday and if I've understood the account properly he can use it until his 19th birthday. His existing HSBC account interest rate drops to almost nothing as soon as he turns 18. Fingers crossed he's accepted by Santander. Thanks to all.
