BANK HAS TAKEN £400 when I only asked to withdraw £20!!

Banks should probably introduce breathalysers at ATMs and refuse service to those who are high. That might help to rid many mysterious claims.
Apologies to the OP if this isn't the case, but could this have possibly happened: thought they'd selected £20 (due to screen mis-alignment), but £200 came out. Thinking they get £180 free, they did it again, but actually drew £400 out of the account?0 -
I had £250 come out of the cash point once because the screen was slow to update after I selected English (instead of Welsh), so I tapped the English option again but in that instant it got me to the withdrawal amount screen and I ended up selecting £250. It was no biggie, had to go to the bank the next day and deposit most of it back.
Wonder if something similar happened?Goals

That doesn't help though if you can't pay your tab before you leave the pub.
I don't always have enough cash on me when going in, however knowing the bar staff means I can pay it just before I leave, such is the advantage (and occasional disadvantage as I often do the banking just before going home) of having the bank next to the pub.
I have also taken £200 out when I meant to take £20 as I've been heavy fingered on the buttons, usually when sober and having something else on my mind, or because the screen doesn't show the additional '0' in the corner.💙💛 💔0 -
The bank said it gave an unarranged overdraft because of the account I’ve hot HSBC Advance.
I pressed the £20 button as suppose to typing any digits into the machine.
The bank have said they will recredut my account and start a dispute/investigation.
It took them 7 days to recredit my account and left me with another £15 in charges which I also now have dispute as it’s not fault of my own as to why I was in the minus0
