Compensation still not paid advice please

Options
Long story short my flight was delayed and fell within guidelines for compensation. I then stupidly went with a company to claim on my behalf. This went fine to begin with then I heard nothing, I email and don't get a response, and phoning doesn't really get me anywhere.

Now I managed to find out from the airline they accepted the claim and paid out fairly quickly. Great so I thought! However the company are claiming the don't have the payment and this has been going on for over 10days. They say they can't confirm its in their bank and that the airline has not provided them a correct ref no for the payment.

Everyone else I was on the flight with have been paid in full nearly two weeks ago (they went with a different company). Does anyone have any advice as i feel I'm not going to see my payment !

I would suggest taking the claims Co to the small claims court. I'm sure that once legal documents land on their desk they will take matters a little more seriously.

Not the normal type of situation we deal with here, so probably not the best place to ask.

    Good luck.

This case shows the risk of going through Claims companies rather than using a solicitor who specialises in airline claims. Solicitors are subject to strict regulation and in the unlikely event of them going bust owing you money, there is a compensation fund.

This case shows the risk of going through a claims company when for a straightforward case it's easier and cheaper to go through the airline direct. I most cases there is no need to pay anyone a penny to get rightfully owed compensation.

I know this now ! Lesson learned the hard way. Going forward I will do everything myself.

    Here's hoping I get it resolved !
