My niece just messaged me to say although all are safe in thier rural southern Ireland place they have still no electric which means the pump for their well won't work so no showers, or flushing loo's !!! and to top if off her gym membership lapsed last Friday so she couldn't even take the kids for a shower/swim.Looks like she will be dunking them into the sea nearby to get them clean :):):)

After carefully getting rid of all our old Round Pounds, Mr LW was handed one in his change on Saturday; and we've not needed to spend since then.

I gather charities will still accept them, so he says he's going to use it to buy his Poppy.

  • Afternoon all

DH has just taken DGS home as we've had him since 8.30. We have visited the Toy Library, played wooden train track for hours, read stories and played play dough. Oh and dried a load of his mummy's washing . Partly on the line and finished in the tumble drier.

Dinner tonight is chicken and leek pie with chicken left over from the Sunday roast. We don't roast a whole chicken often as it's just the two of us. I am doing rubber chicken this week so will be cooking risotto tomorrow.

LW I feel your pain , DH was given three old pound coins on Saturday in change but he managed to get rid of them

Well have a good evening everyone.

I think I read Tesco will take them for an extra week and poundland until the end of the month.
You can pay them into your bank.
