Ebay purchase, defect not described, threatened with Police & Court

Just ignore their frankly idiotic threats, seriously what a plonker. Ignore them. If they called the police about this they'd be told to bog off (not in those exact words!).
Wait until you get your ore paid label to return and once you have your refund leave factual feedback. I'd be leaving a negative for the communication alone.0 -

If you google on 'how to fix a stuck pixel' you'll find plenty of guidance on how to (safely) have a go at sorting out the problem, which is clearly very common - and can often be sorted instantly.0 -

Why should they? They brought a monitor that was described as perfect and as new. A dead pixel is a pretty major thing that should be mentioned. Some people would be happy to buy a monitor with a dead pixel, many wouldn't. Regardless it would affect how much people are willing to pay for it.
As others have said just open a case for not as described, return in a safe secure way and then get a refund. Even in the unlikely event the seller went to the police, I doubt very much they would be interested in someone who brought an item that wasn't working 100% and asked to return it for a refund.0 -

Irrespective of this, if the seller described the display as a "perfect example" despite there being a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen, I don't see why a SNAD shouldn't be successful as with even a single faulty pixel, the screen can't be called perfect.
If the screen is classified as Pixel class II then it is a perfect example.
It's a perfect e ample with 2 stuck pixels0 -

Why should they? Because it isn't a remotely major thing and can normally be resolved quite easily - much less hassle than returning a monitor.0 -
Which brand is it?
Different monitor manufacturers have different "dead pixel policy".
Samsung, for example, do allow some dead pixels, but the location of them is significant.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I wish there was such thing as a blocked seller list so that I could put this seller on it.0
