Cannot Delete Emails On Android Phone.

Bit of a bizarre problem with my android phone & emails. I have 2 emails on my phone that I just cannot get rid of. When I delete them they just appear back. I also have a 99+ emails in the Unread box going back to 2014 !! When I read them they also appear back........... Anybody any ideas whats up ??
