Virgin Media Customer Services, what a joke!

I agree - they are an absoloute nightmare to deal with - its cost me £216 to surrender my contract early (as they were not having it that the system was not working and constantly throwing me out) - not exactly money saving I know but otherwise I'd have had a nervous breakdown with them.
I really did expect more from a R. Branson company.0 -
Hi guys,
I used to work at NTL just before Virgin took over.
It used to be great and the customer service people were happy. Now days an agency manage all employees. There are no benefits and people are sacked/made redundant quite often. This is because the long term plan is to offshore to Bangalore in India.
Its such a shame, no days customer service employees have the attitude of "I cant be arsed" one of my mates still works down in Swansea and he is handing in his notice next week.
Cable and Wireless staff are being laid off
NTL staff are being forced to sign an employee contract with an agency and basically say that when NTL change operations to Bangalore India they wont have jobs... No redundancy pay, no thing. It can happen anytime too its just a waiting game.
The saving grace of the job for them is that they can run the company into the ground whilst their there. Cutting customers off constant on hold transfering doing the job wrong and deliberately making mistakes etc etc.
So my question to you guys is.....
Do you want to sign up to Virgin?... If you want to pay some Indian lads wages while his UK counterpart is being forced to quit or take redundancy then go ahead. As for me I go elsewhere.0 -
Another thought though..........
Maybe things are different under Branson?... He was always a decent guy so maybe he is bringing the changes in?...0 -
well if we do we'll get it sorted,
Oh so you must work for them then, or have an uncanny talent for predicting the future.
Follow advice here, today I tried to speak to the Disconnections Dept. I started at 16.55, weaved my way through the automated menus and got through to a very helpful person who in the space of 3 seconds put me through to the correct department. Well, when I say 'put through' it was actually to another voice activated menu asking me to choose from the options (NTL, Telewest etc), after stating Telewest numerous times like a loon I was informed that the call had been disconnected, repeat twice more. After 22 minutes of not actually getting through and being disconnected twice more, I tried one final time, told the rep what had been happening, threatened to film me trying and putting it on YouTube, I was placed on hold for a further 9 minutes I was put through to the a real person.
I think it's time to switch to Freeview/TalkTalk etc.
Bunch of clueless incompetents!0 -
I agree - I have posted elsewhere on this site about Virgin Media and their service or rather lack of. When I took out my contract with Telewest everything was fab and on one occasion when I had a problem, I spoke to a lovely lady in CS who put me on the right track. Since Virgin Media took over then everything seemed ticketyboo for a while until they started shutting down channels and telling me that I was never entitled to view them in the first place. Namely the Crime Channel - this has now been moved to their Biggest Package and if I want it then I shall have to pay oodles for it. Their CS Department stinks - it is awful speaking to someone in India who can be barely understood and who gets ratty if you talk about something that does not appear on their script.
Unfortunately, I missed Watchdog but perhaps I should be contacting them with my complaint - in fact, I think we should all contact them.
It's about time Mr Branson woke up to the fact that in this day and age companies are now bringing their call centres back to the UK. We don't want Indian call centres because they are useless.0 -
That's it I have done it - I have been onto the BBC Watchdog website and made a complaint about Virgin Media's shoddy service operations out in India.0

While I agree Virgin media has loads of problems they are still better than sky. Sky is !!!!.Lets not use quidco0

I'm with Virgin Media since they took over from Telewest. I'm NOT impressed. They have taken away channels, it's so unfair. When you originally sign up for a package, that's what you should be getting, if they take channels away you should get a refund off of your monthly bills surely? I'm thinking of going elsewhere, anyone got any idea's?0
