Next set of stats. The mortgage payments (898.03 and 101.97) for April have now cleared.
Mortgage today is £55,599.90 - £4,600 paid to date this year towards the mortgage and with interest of £699.90, that’s a net reduction of 3,900.10
A theoretical 16 out of 60 months have elapsed. I’ll update signature, details on post #1 plus graphs shortly to reflect the above.

Excellent net reduction in the capital remaining, I think this will really help you if interest rates do climb in 2010, but, who knows where we'll all be in a further 12months in the economic chaos around presently? Best to just knuckle down and do what we can within the sphere of control we can exert.0 -
Great - I see we're back and not just in "beta format for load testing - we may need to roll back"...
Anyone noticed any major changes? - I see there's a remove thanks now.
How was your MSE forum free weekend?

Productive weekend for me, am worn out & need a weekend to recoverA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

First weekend in ages I've had a few child free hours and I wanted to check out the shopping bargains thread. I was so fustrated the forum was closed I've spent loads (not very moneysaving but the intention was there).
Did your blissling enjoy his birthday? My ds had an outside party tea in the sunshine without the annoying black and yellow creatures that spoil our celebrations in the later summer months.0 -

Hi Mumto5,
We went to a new soft play that had recently opened which both kids really enjoyed, went to McDonalds for lunch - which is a real treat for the kids as they rarely go there - daughter calls it "Old McDonalds had a farm..."
I've been off work since Friday lunch time - back Tuesday 14th - been spending quality time with the kids. Also went 10 pin bowling this morning: daughter who is 2 beat son who is now 5 - he wasn't that impressed but really enjoyed it none the less.

Just spotted this this evening:
http://www.unison.org.uk/news/news_view.asp?did=5267
Wasn't expecting much of a rise in the current economic climate, but 0.5% is at the lower end of what I was expecting!
How come MPs can award themselves a 2.33% rise - a bit of Do as I say (Not as I do) perhaps?
It certainly will be interesting to see how this one plays out, as Unison reported that the offer will be withdrawn on 1st June if it has not been accepted by then.

Another interesting article on the economy front from BBC news that suggests the UK economy won't recover until 2012:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7989061.stm
Previously, I've suspected that when we come off our fix in March 2011, we'd see much higher rates than currently as the economy would be in recovery, but it may be that the base rate stays low until 2011/2012.
Doesn't help our savings, but perhaps we could bump along on the standard variable rate with what we have left in the mortgage at 2011 until mortgage free.
Suspect that even the so called "experts" aren't sure which direction we're heading...
