Your dedication to MS Money is impressive; personally I'm happy with the spreadsheet and just a few "updates" but accept that you should get more from mining your data....
I used to use Money as a "hobby" tool to aid in keeping my finances in order. Now, I feel I need MS Money to keep track of money coming in and going out. On Friday 28th November and Monday 1st December, there was no less than 17 transactions against the current account  plus another 3 credits in monthly savings interest!House price falls - as you say, not an issue unless selling...
I checked the website I use to get the Halifax house price index today and I've estimated that our house has lost another 7,737 in November - that's nearly 258 a day drop :eek:Your net income contribution against the mortgage is massive...
As the kids get older they will want bigger and better things, so I do not doubt that the overpayment pot is very likely to decrease over time. Also, I'm sure if I tried, I could make light work of the overpayment pot: new carpets, new kitchen, new car. In fact, I'm sure that would exceed the overpayment pot.Clear those receipts FB!
Did a long day at work today 07.30 to 18.30, so I've just chilled this evening. Out at a pantomime tomorrow with son and daughter is sleeping out for the very first time, so that should be interesting...

Good luck in hitting £49.9k soon!
From 50's to 40's...?
In 2008 I was "hoping" to put 1,250 a month aside towards the mortgage, but haven't quite achieved that. I've since had a pay rise, plus I should also get a cost of living increase in April 2009.
If, and that's quite a big if...despite a rise, I can maintain slightly less at 1,200 a month in 2009, the mortgage should break through the 50's into 49's in October 2009.

FB.
Oh no it won't
Depressing about house price drop, despite all our best efforts we all have less equity now than we did a year ago.
PS> Hope that's not too many smileys FBA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Hi all
It’s been a while… well a week, but as I try to post regularly, normally at least once or twice a week, so that’s a while in my book.
You knew I’d post today didn’t you…? Why?
Today is 12.12.08. Exactly 4 years until I plan to be mortgage free. Three years, 364 days and counting from tomorrow !
What’s been keeping me busy?
Work mainly. It’s been manic. Done quite a few 10 hour+ days in the last two weeks – we’ve been really busy. When you earn your living using a computer, you don’t always want to also sit down in front of one on an evening.
PVR. Our personal video recorder has become somewhat full, and Mrs Bliss and I have been trying to view/clear down some older recordings to make space for potential Christmas recordings.
Money. Been getting a “This operation can not be performed”in MS Money. Spent all of last evening doing google searches, reading Microsoft knowledge base articles etc, to discover that my Money file was partially corrupt. Thankfully, it appears it was only a small part of the file (Repeating bills and deposits), so I’ve deleted and re-created a few of those, plus ran a fix. Fingers crossed – I’ve not had the error return, so I’m hopefully ok.
Credit card bills. These are just about complete, except I’ve not attempted to balance our main (Goldfish) credit card.
Christmas decorations. We put our Christmas decorations up last weekend. Should have took an hour or so, but seemed to take ages as both kids were helping on and off. Well I say helping, more like pulling things out of boxes and being curious.
Very little else money saving or related to the mortgage to report.

OH has a "ban" on the tree too early, but may see about getting it tomorrow. Daughter is fine at 11, but, not sure how our new cat will react... visions of a horizontal tree appear before me as it can't be let out of the house until Christmas!0 -
Nice to see you again, did wonder if you were off galavantingWhen you earn your living using a computer, you don’t always want to also sit down in front of one on an evening.

I'm sure the decorations are lovely, we put our tree up yesterday.

Was only a week! Real life getting in the way.Since you're having the pre-Christmas maddness at work (busy) do you think it'll quieten down in Jan?
Certainly not - we've got stuff going live on 1st January. I'm in on 2nd and 3rd (Saturday - although that shoud be overtime!) - I'd originally requested being off over the Christmas and returing on the 5th January.
Can't moan really. It could be worse!
