POxx
Instant transfers are instant with me between Smile accounts and even better with Egg - when I request money via Egg to go into my offset Egg credit me immediately but Smile take a few days to process so I get double savings.
Maybe all the missing socks are caught up in the web and slowing some transfers down.
FB - any progress on the Mrs FB front? BTW your interest has dropped by just over 1p an hour in 2 months, not that I'm sad enough to notice these things you understand.

hi FB and everyone else,
i have just read through all the posts with interest to see how you are all getting on, i have an interest as I, too, and on my way to being MF.
as for the nationwide, i clicked to transfer £300 extra to my mortgage account on tuesday and then logged on to see the payment being taken off... and waited and waited..wednesday came, then thurday and finally friday came and it had been taken out... and it was actually from my flex account so it's not as if it was from another bank!! cheeky beggars..0 -
Hi,
Mortgage payment for April has now cleared to mortgage account and I can update the numbers and the graph on post #1.
As of today, I’ve a mortgage of 65, 838.84 – down from a previous 66,817.50 at the start of March.
MFiT percentage now at 19.31% – up from previous of 16.75%.
Providing I keep to plan, I’ve got a further 56 months / payments remaining.
Off to update numbers, graph and signature…

Hi again,
Today was #1’s birthday. He reached the dizzy heights of 4. Think he really enjoyed himself. To be honest, it was a bit like Christmas – he seemed to get lots of presents / toys and some money too.
One of my (not his!) favourite presents was a starter ant farm. This is described as “fun, totally fascinating and very educational. Ideal for young naturalists.”
OK, not very MSE, but we’ve fast tracked the sourcing of ants and purchased 40 today from the ant farm supplier, via mail order. At 4.00, that’s 10p an ant – trust me to look at the numbers…
I’ll report on how we’re doing on the ant front in the coming weeks!
We went to a farm in Northumberland – we’ve been there a few times before and he really enjoyed himself. Got his face painted, made a candle, held a rabbit, chick, rat and touched a snake.

Hi all,
Had a secure message reply from Nationwide today regarding my earlier mortgage query. Quote:
"Thank you for your enquiry.
The £898.03 payment to your mortgage account was received in to the account on the 04/04/2008. Payments to Nationwide mortgage accounts normally arrive in 2 working days. Transfers confirmed after 6pm or on a Sunday will take an extra working day and the transactions are backdated for interest purposes to the date the money left the FlexAccount in this case the 01/04/2008.
The online mortgage statement shows the total amount received to the account each calendar month and does not list transactions individually."
So, reading into the above, despite me not seeing the credit to the mortgage account until 4th April, they apply the interest calculations as it if was credited on 1st April. Nice, I guess.
Can be like paint drying at times, watching your mortgage balance go down!!!

Hi FB
I'm a newbie and just composing my first missive but I have been lurking about for two weeks now and taking great inspiration from many posts not least yours!
I think they are referring to the fact that you are working up to telling Mrs Bliss about your on-line MFW diary.

[[ Manage existing savings better.
We’ve got a small amount of emergency savings, plus some shares. We’ve been diverting the cash into two Lloyds TSB regular saver accounts – I pay tax on mine , but mrs bliss is tax free, so that’s 8% We also got in while the regular saver was a 2 year product, and we’ve just started year 2. Ends October 2008]]
i am interested in this bit, it sounds like what i have, although i went into the bank yesterday with regards to 'upping' my payments and he said to me the rate is now under 3%, but reading my t&c i think he is wrong on that bit, if it does stop in October this year then i will close it and find a better account as i am sure mrs bliss will?0 -
