Congratulations! Yours was the first diary I ever read and you really inspired me. Hope you'll stick around with the rest of us.
    June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!
  • Congratulations and thanks for all the hard work you do for everyone else on these boards!

  • Thanks everyone for the well wishes, praise and general comments.

Was absent from MSE on Sunday evening - obligatory bottle of champers.

Just put a quick head around the corner in the MFiT T2 and T3 challenges. Now that my feet are just about back on the ground, hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things and catch up to where I need to be.

    Thanks again.

  • Congratulations!
I wonder if you totted up all the interest saved by all the people who have been inspired by your diary what your grand total would be?! I'm guessing pretty impressive!
Looking forward to the savings bit of your diary, if you're going to continue it on here?

Congratulations FB! You, Setmefree and Stuart inspired me to aim to be mortgage free. I may even get round to giving you my totals in the MF3 at some point.

    You are a great inspiration!
  • I've just posted an update to the MFW 2012 challenge here:

Copy also posted here for completeness. Revised figures are as follows:

    #29 - Overpay by £10,400.00.

Month: Ideal Pay / Ideal Total / Ideal % / Actual Pay / Actual Total (Diff) / Actual %

    January: 866.67 / 866.67 / 8.33% / 862.59 / 862.59 (-4.08) / 8.29%
    February: 866.67 / 1,733.33 / 16.67% / 1,202.59 / 2,065.18 (+331.85) / 19.86%
    March: 866.67 / 2,600.00 / 25.00% / 1,112.59 / 3,177.77 (+577.77) / 30.56%
    April: 866.67 / 3,466.67 / 33.33% / 1,112.59 / 4,290.36 (+823.69) / 41.25%
    May: 866.67 / 4,333.33 / 41.67% / 1,112.59 / 5,402.95 (+1,069.62) / 51.95%
    June: 866.67 / 5,200.00 / 50.00% / 1,212.59 / 6,615.54 (+1,415.54) / 63.61%
    July: 866.67 / 6,066.67 / 58.33% / 1,362.59 / 7,978.13 (+1,911.44) / 76.71%
    August: 866.67 / 6,933.33 / 66.67% / 1,533.09 / 9,511.22 (+2,577.89) / 91.45%
    September: 866.67 / 7,800.00 / 75.00% / 3,564.94 / 13,076.16 (+5,276.16) / 125.73%

    Total overpaid: £13,076.16

Needed to put a further overpayment in for £2,202.35 for September, which was actually part of the final payment to the mortgage account, which gives a final September (overpayment) figure of £3,564.94

  • Quick update then turning in.

Still on my trusty steed - my old bike that is. Has been pretty cold this week. Thought it was cold on Monday when it was about 3c. Wednesday was worse - colleagues coming in by car reported it between 0c and 1.5c so not all that warm at all.

Recently posted a link to the Aldi special buys event which had cycling accessories - I got some cycling compression underwear:
    http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/special_buys3_26710.htm

Was slightly dubious about them - that was until I cycled in wearing them on Wednesday. OMG. Is it wrong to get excited about (men's) underwear? :rotfl:

Despite it being pretty cold, I hardly felt the cold. Face and toes were slightly cold, but I was actually warm. Ok, I paid £20, but it's going to pay for itself after a few commutes. Wish I had bought more than one set though!

Today I had just a thermal top on - no thermal leggings and despite it being much warmer - about 8c I actually felt colder (I had a short sleeved top on too). Going into autumn / winter is going to be about having the right kit I think. Won't be doing snow / ice, but I don't mind the cold when it's dry.

Cycle mileage is sitting at 1,977 miles - should exceed 2,000 this weekend as I plan to do a ride on Saturday morning.

Mortgage - still present on the internet banking despite a balance of zero. No letter / other details from nationwide just yet.

Finally, I altered my signature this evening. Not 100% sure it will stay that way, but it's a change from the long standing previous format.
