Once you buy a car and try to sell again you will always lose money.

In your position i would try for a bargain offer somewhere and minimise my loss to minimum.

    Small fiat/alfa romeo garage.

Then you've probably paid x2 the market value of the car.

I'd say either push on with the Fiat and grow to love it ( :o ) or prepare for a rather large financial bath come resale time.

    I would try:
    1. Take it back to garage, see if he has something else which you like
    2. Trade it at a.n.other dealer for a car you like
    3. Get a quote from WBAC.com
    4. Sell it private, but be prepared for tyre kickers and hassle.

The first three of those will guarantee you a financial savaging.

The fourth will be least painful, but still very painful

Unlikely to get anywhere near what you paid for several reasons.

Your not offering a warranty and other dealer services etc.
They had to make a profit on the car so they bought it for much less.
As mentioned, you have owned it a short while. Buyers will soon start offering low figures if they have not walked away.
Classsic signs of a problem vehicle, need to shift it quickly before the big bills arrive.

What's the issue with private selling? I bought it for a good price. If people like the look of it they can come and view it. I'm in no rush to sell.

.... and bought from a FIAT / Alfa dealer who'll have been asking a premium in the first place.

No. I just know how the motor trade works.

Your average franchised or specialising dealer will charge more for their particular brand than one who perhaps doesnt "value" a FIAT.

Any more info you'd like to share on the car itself? Year, model, engine type, engine size, mileage, MOT, service history....?

It might give a better indication of what your options are / how much money you will realistically recoup.
