Eon website frustration

  • Hamski - no I wasn't aware of that route.

The process for changing one's tariff within the eon website is still hanging at the "your current energy usage" stage. I notice that uploading that page to the w3.org HTML validation parser shows a fatal error at the 21st advisory message. I just don't understand what's taking Eon's IT people so long to nail down the problem.

But even Eon's own telephone people couldn't change my tariff to that one for me - it MUST be done online. Not pleased.

    stinker.
  • Now I'm hearing adverts on the radio for the very tariff I've been trying to switch to for the last entire week. This is quite galling.

It would be a lot more galling if the tariff is withdrawn before I can switch to it, through no fault of my own.

    Not happy!

    Morning StinkerPinker,

I've had a bit of an update on this for you.

If you contact us and ask to go on the tariff, we can add your details to a spread sheet. We then have a couple of guys working through these and contacting the customer when it's done and the tariff will be backdated.

I'm sorry I can't do it for you, but we have the 'live chat' on the website, social media, or you can ring.

    Thank you

  • Dear Helena,

    Thank you for your suggestion.

However I have just telephoned the 0345 052 000 Eon line and asked to be placed on the said spreadsheet. The operator said she hadn't heard of it, nor had her colleagues, and was unable to help me. LOL.

    Bemused. Stymied.

I know the pain you are going through,I was about to suggest raising a complaint then refusing the compensation offer to get put through to customer resoloutions who should be able to help. This is what I did and thought all was sorted, but this morning received an email saying as I hadnt ticked a box(there was no box to tick) accepting the terms and conditions my tariff switch would not go through. This after receiving an email on the 9th oct confirming tariff switch was going well, live chat and a long telephone call to be reasssured everything was going through ok.I dont understand why a switch of tariff for an existing customer should take so long but the EON reresentatives remark about a couple of guys sitting in a room doing a spreadsheet for a nationally advertised campaign gives an indication of their ineptness.Any comments or help helena or malc.

Presumably they've also been provided with an abacus so that they can eventually work out the new Direct Debit figures, too.

(Unless that has been "upgraded" to "Smart" and no longer functions.)
  • LOL! Thanks, people. That's given me a chuckle.

    Good morning Guys,

I'm really sorry, this isn't good enough :(

If you would like to send me your name, address, account number and the reason you're unable to switch to the tariff, I'll get this done and added for you.

As I say, I don't have a timescale for when you'll be contacted, but the tariff will be backdated for you.

I'm also going to speak to my managers about when you called.

    Thank you

  • Dear Helena, thank you for your reply.

I have attempted to send you the requested details via PM but the MSE system tells me you are not permitted or have chosen not to receive Private Messages.

I don't want to place my name, address and Eon account details in the public domain.

Is there a way around this problem?

    stinker..

    Hiya StinkerPinker,

Sorry, reps on here don't have access to PM's.

You can email me, address is in my profile, but it's WebForumAdvisors@eonenergy.com

    Thank you.
