EasyJet In cabin bag size question

Flying Easy Jet for the first time and noted that the in cabin bag I have used with BA AA etc without problems for many trips has a top handle that protrudes 1cm (10mm) over the 56cm length allowed by easyjet. (ie a piece of plastic 1cm x 16cm would be outside the limit) The volume of the bag is actually less than the allowed volume due to the other two dimensions being smaller. Having heard how Easy Jet are very much "Job's Worth" when it comes to charging extras and not wanting to have my bag put in the hold does anyone know if the extra tiny bit of handle will be noticed.

No one can tell you for sure as we don't know who you might encounter on any particular day at any particular airport.
My thoughts are you'll be fine, but I have seen really strict agents on occasion too.
BA's size of 56 x 45 x 25cm is the same as easyJet's.0 -
If you are asked to fit your carry-on in the luggage sizer at the gate and it doesn't fit you will be charged the relevant fee. Unfortunately for you the luggage sizers require that the bag goes in sideways so if your bag is to tall, it won't fit. The fact the other sides are less than the maximum dimensions is entirely irrelevant.0

Remove the handle by drilling the two rivetts.......replace the two rivetts with two short bolts with butterfly nuts.......should you ever be stopped with this bag then just remove the handle in 30 seconds to save £40 hold luggage charge........you can fit the handle on the side of the case (if you need one) by making two holes on the side and placing the handle there.Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0

I've flown EasyJet dozens of times, and never had an issue when I've used a case slightly over (though I can't comment on whether specific airports would be more likely to kick up a fuss- I typically fly Edinburgh and Bristol).
I do notice that they are more likely to put it in the hold now due to lack of space, but I guess that is more down to everyone taking a "large" carry-on bag.0
