Canada currency question

Heading to Sun Peaks for Xmas, which is a Canadian ski resort. I’ve read and heard Mr Lewis talk about the travel credit cards and I’m wondering if this the best/safest option.
Are these cards pre-pay? Will all retailers accept them? Are they suitable for Canada or are we better off getting cash currency? I’m just thinking they may be safer than carrying cash around.
Any advice appreciated.

A prepay credit card is something of an oxymoron.
There are prepay travel cards and credit cards that a particularly suited to travel. Both are as widely accepted as any VISA or MasterCard. The prepay cards can cause a few issues in some situations.
