BT - increased my allowance to 15GB without telling me

I'm not complaining, just surprised. I originally signed up for a 10GB a month contract about nine years ago. At some point in the last four or five years they increased this (unasked) to 12GB. This was mid-way through a contractual year, and the charges stayed the same. (I contact them every February just before my contract ends, to set up one for the new period, and it stays the same for 12 months).

I've just checked my account and see that my Broadband allowance is now 15GB. I haven't had any communication from them, and my direct debit is still the same.

Is this some sort of loyalty reward scheme? I haven't threatened to leave them or anything.

I have two mobiles on BT, and benefit from a £5 a month reduction on each due to having their Broadband. This is the main reason why I have stuck with them despite tempting offers elsewhere!

How much per month does your 15gb Broadband cost and what speed is it?

£9.50 for the Broadband, plus the two phone contracts. Apparently I should get "up to" 17MB, and no it isn't the fastest but it's adequate for my needs.

Wow,you are paying way too much for that.

I am £7.00 for Unlimted 80MB Fibre from B.T,and that includes B.T Sport as well,just my line rental at £18.99 on top.
