I've had a Nationwide account before so wouldn't be eligible for the 5% offer.
Not sure why you made post #54 then?
I have a couple of other current accounts doing nothing so could use them as donor accounts. Is Tesco bank the next best thing, or the TSB?
Neither of those are offering a switching incentive, so a donor account wouldn't be necessary with those.

What's your objective?...£30 to £40 interest per year or a couple of £100+ switching incentives in a month or two?

I would be happy to switch my main account to the TSB if they offered a switching bonus. I'm not interested in having a couple of accounts and shifting money around to get a few quid each month. I got £125 from the Co-op when I switched to them and the £5.50 a month on top comes to £191 for the first year then £66 a year for as long as the Everday Reward scheme is in effect. My monthly pension is just under what HSBC requires for their Advance Account so no bonus for me there. I'll just keep my eyes open and see what comes along. I do like the Co-op's ethical policy and it looks like that's staying around in spite of the hedge fund investments.

They also have a £75 offer on their Bank Account. No DDs required (just a pair of SOs) and our recent experience was good, with the incentive paid out within a week of the switch completing. Then again, maybe you could try for the Advance account with the Bank Account as a fall-back position?

Me and my partner have previously held a FlexDirect account but not together.
If we now open a joint account will that qualify for 5%?

I have just spoken to Nationwide. They have confirmed sole and joint are separate things. So if I didn't get in the past 5% on a joint account, then now I can open one and get the promotion!

One DD paid weekly satisfies the Tesco '3 DD' requirement.
Where can you & hubby get a weekly DD?

IIRC unfortunately not. Each Halifax RA requires two different direct debits.

One word makes all the difference!

But it will only cost you £2 to find out. Please report back if you try it. :)
