BT = problems

I have to say I have had nothing but problems with BT.
The latest problem is this: I phoned them asking if I could stream BT sport through the website, they said I should have fast enough broadband (it is only 2-3meg) and that I would need to sign up for 1 year to get access. I signed up and discovered that I cannot stream it properly as BT have not given me fast enough speeds, now they want £450 to cancel contract. My argument is why should I be held to the 1 year contract when they are not providing me what they promised.
Any advice?

You should is not a promise .
Do you have this so called promise in writing ??
As at a guess you are connecting over WiFi .That usually degrades the signal .
Personally i would use my BT members community forum to ask the question re streaming .0 -
2 to 3 Mbps is just fast enough if nothing else is using the internet in the home.
It might help if a wired (cat5) connection is used rather than Wi-Fi (check if other homes are using the same Wi-Fi channel) or powerline adapters... But those speeds should be just enough... In theory.
Seek advice on improving your speed and connection of TV box to the router. But fibre would see a massive speed improvement... It may be worth seeing if BT will provide fibre for you at a good price, but keep at them for canceling with no penalty. (You should have tried to do so in the 14 day cooling off period? Did you?)0 -
Had a similar problem some while ago. My speed was ok but could not get BT Sport on my PC. BT tech support couldn't sort it out so I pestered them with complaints and in the end they gave me BT Vision box which works ok..
I think there'sa BB speed stipulation on BT T&Cs somewhere, if you meet that and rest of your kit complies then complain.Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0
