Next door neighbours property causing damage

Hi my next door neighbour had a barbecue cover on their barby which blew off in the wind and landed on my roof. The cover seems to ha e caught on a tile or two and has been stuck there for a while now.
What I need to ask is can I make him take it down? My house is a 3 story townhouse and the roof is obviously very high and not really accessible with ladders. If it doesn't come down soon I'm convinced it will cause some damage if it does who is at fault?
Answers/advice welcome

Have you asked him to remove it? If not, that would be a good first step and then if he refuses or dithers about it, you can consider your options.0

If it’s been there a while why haven’t you done anything about it?
You know it’s there and have chosen to do nothing. Kind of makes you liable for any damage.0 -
I have spoken to him he told me it was his, said we'd wait to see if I came loose and blew off but it's clearly not going to do that.0

So take it down and return it to him.0 -

Three stories up 🤔, can't just take it down.0 -

And risk it hurting someone / causing damage elsewhere?mattbell1975 wrote: »I have spoken to him he told me it was his, said we'd wait to see if I came loose and blew off but it's clearly not going to do that.0 -

After all, BBQ cover injuries are on the rise.0 -
Lol, I skipped out the crucial word “cover” when I read the OP. I had visions of a metallic structure hanging off a roof :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:shortcrust wrote: »After all, BBQ cover injuries are on the rise.0
