Have you tried powering everything off then removing the battery and leaving it out, then (carefully!) plugging the mains cable back in and turning everything on?
I had an ancient laptop once which would work only if the battery was not plugged in!0 -

Sounds like hardware fault, so unless dropped or liquid spill etc, claim until the "6 year" rule.0

Did it get wet? I experienced that before with my HP. My daughter spilled the water to the keyboard
