Hi Andy. No no light s at all . I’ve even changed the fuse , nothing happens at all. It’s a Lenovo one only a couple of years old and no errors or anything.

You need to give a bit more information still Emerald.
For example run through what you do in detail step by step and what each step results in, even if that is nothing.

I do not know if that laptop has an external power supply(?) and it would be good if you could post the model number so someone familiar can help you further. Post as much info as you can otherwise we are all in the dark too!

It could be the powers supply has failed, have you tried a different 13A socket, how do you know the fuse is ok, have you tested it -it is unlikely but not unknown to be two duff fuses! Any damaged wires? If it is a separate power supply can you get someone to test it?

Is there a light on the power supply itself, and does it come on?
Is the battery normally healthy, ie lasts a few hours, and if so, was it flat or near flat?
Is the connector on the laptop, that the power supply plugs into, loose?

I plug the power cable in and press on nothing happens. It’s happened before and I was able to take battery out wait a bit and put back in and it would work but not now.

I’ve tried it into a different socket and still nothing. I don’t know if it should the fuse but I changed it just in case. Nothing’s loose or damaged wires. It’s hardly been used really as I prefer my iPad.

    It’s a Lenovo G505. Model name 20240. Thanks

No lights at all coming on. I always use it plugged in on the electricity. Nothing loose no . Thanks
  • Power jack or adaptor issue perhaps.
The simple test would be to insert a charged battery within....if you had one.

If there are no lights on the power adapter when it is plugged in then you have your answer ..

If there are no lights on the power adapter atall, rather than lights there but not lit up, then
do as above , remove the battery, turn OFF the power at the socket but keep it plugged in and hold your finger on the power button on the laptyop for 30 seconds.

This will drain residual charge from the capacitors on the motherboard.

Battery back on, power on at socket and give it another go

Ive done that’s and I get power light on now and the light next to it which looks like a battery icon but not sure is flashing red on and off. The power light is white but still nothing.
