Just out of interest, what do you see as the benefits of using a smart-meter?

It should be a std thing, having meters read or sending readings in should be a thing of the past.
Also being able to immediately see the effect of using certain appliances, leaving lights on etc is not only good for our pockets as individuals, but good for us as a whole with regards to wasting energy, we are already on the cusp of not producing enough energy for our demands. So every little bit we save helps.
My friends kids love it switching things off to see the effect it has, going round the house looking for switched on items that aren't being used, its good education

    Hi
I am moving house next Thursday. The new home is on an Eon tariff and currently I am with Co-operative. I just called Eon to see what the house move process is and the automated message says it will perform a credit check after giving them the meter readings. Obviously I do not want this before I have completed.

Can I just tell them to keep me on the standard tariff (even though sky high prices) or shall I wait until after the completion date to give them all my info?

Wait until you move in and stick with the co-op if your happy with and not Eon rep who just touting for your custom...

    Good luck...

Thanks. Will have to stay on Eon though for a bit until I can switch.
