Little White Lies that we tell our Kids

my mum used to tell my brother and i that babies were made when mummies and daddies kissed. a seed from daddies mouth went into mummis mouth and grew into a baby in her tummy.

This worked well until a few years later mum was sitting rubbing her belly *too much chocolate* saying ooh i think theres a baby in there. being a little older and wiser i knew this wasnt possible because daddy had had his "tentacles" cut off (vasectomy) and told him so :rotfl:
My brother (about 6) was inconsolable because he'd kissed her on the lips the night before and thought it was his doing seeing as it couldnt have been daddies.

this prompted a truthful explanation.

I can remember a few white lies me and my 3 sisters were told - if we misbehaved we were told that the gypsies were coming to take us away. Maybe we didn't really believe that, but it definitely didn't scar any of us for life, I laugh when I think about it now.

What suits one child may not suit another, but the 4 of us turned out alright!
