after one third of staff expected to arrive from the continent in last year’s peak season didn’t turn up.

Nothing to do with Brexit. The exchange rate buys far fewer Euros. More better paid work elsewhere in Europe.

Is there a problem with Britain refusing the freedom of movement during the transition period and the shortage of staff or technology at the home office and the border force.
Any bets on wether this new red line will disappear or will Theresa May stand firm.

As Britain gets closer to the end of March 2019 these practical issues will come into focus.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.

That!!!8217;s a very good point that I have made before.
Do you think this will be a continuing problem for all farmers who use EU27 labour during 2018.

Are we stopping people coming here in transition period I though the problem was we dont want people arriving during transition period to have same rights as those arriving before.
  • It's nice to see solidarity in the EU.
Except there's not much, at least as far as plans for increasing integration are concerned.
Watch an EU minister trash plans for increased federalism here:

If it's too long for you to wade through the Express has a shorter clip, which includes beauties like:
"The first main task and objective that we have is to deal with the consequences of a spiral of crisis the European Union has been experiencing over the last ten years.
"At this moment I don’t think people expect from us to drag them and engage in a philosophical discussion about the European Union’s future while we have diverging views.

Exchange rates impact all facets of life not just farming. A poor exchange rate correspondingly reduces the income for parts of Europe dependent upon UK tourism for example. Never been any different. Easy to create a story where none exists. When the quality of journalism is poor.

Indeed. Better paid work in Europe, much better economic conditions also. And a better quality of life.

Seems a contrary view to the migration to the UK irrespective of what the exchange rate is at any point in time.
