Can i also add i have solar panels so should really be easing the blow?

Only a bit. Solar panels are most effective in summer. If you have underfloor heating then it is wont have much effect on this with less light and higher heating load in winter...

Reading from October 3rd is 29027
Reading from October 9th is 29156

In those 6 days i would use leccy as any other normal day, so on avg 21.5kw per day

That's about £2.50-3/day for a day in October, so around £90 per month, which would seem less than your expected average because of the winter season coming up.

Can we go back to your original comments about BG.

In your original post you said "We always give meter readings where asked so i'm totally dumbfounded as to the massive change". Where you have described your readings for both gas and electric as "estimates" were these your own readings and did you submit them online.?

Most billing issues we see on this forum come from people who have not grasped the need for regular readings, ignored messages on bills about new DD and tariff is ending and you will be transferred to a standard (expensive tariff) or looked at the bottom line as to whether they are in credit/debit.

Is does appear that your DD has been failing to meet the actual bills - it may have been once - and BG are purely playing catchup.

A lot of lessons to be learnt here - and talk to your LL about how to control your underfloor (or enjoy a nice warm home to come home to)
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

First of all you need to go back and dig out the nearest leccy bill on or before the 7th Apr, and look to see if any amount has been carried forward as a debit (money owing). Money owed to you (over-payments) are shown with a 'cr' after the amount, whereas debits usually are shown with nothing after the amount or sometimes a 'dr'.

If you've been billed on estimates and you carry on paying the same amount each month then this problem is common. So eg, if you were billed on 31 March then what was the amount carried forward?

There was on the account but everytime i go to check it online i get "opps something went wrong".
I guess due to closing the account maybe? Surely i must have access to the historical data?
With some online accounts you get that message logging in once you've left the supplier. If you click on tab for bills or meter readings often the information is still there, you just can't add anything new.

Give it a try and see if the older reads are still there
