Food on a mousetrap

I`ve got a mouse  ,found mousey poo this afty on my kitchen floor,it wasn`t there this morning:mad:

So after tea I`m going to B&Q to buy a mousetrap or two,but what do you put on it to lure the furry little critters to it? I think cheese is a myth as they aren`t suppost to even like it.

This has taught me to not leave my back door open.

So any suggestions of what grub mice like?

The mice that we had seemed to love the monkey nuts that you get to feed birds. (Seemed to prefer them unshelled)

How do you know it's not a rat
Mice do have a craving for sweets, so leave a bit off a choc bar. Get a trap and don't buy poison, as the decaying body will stink your house out.

My grandfather always melted a square of chocolate onto the spike and the mice couldn't get it off before the deed was done.

We had mice a while back, we heard it snap, just after going to be, hubby got up, went downstairs and when he opened the trap, it wasn't dead and it escaped lol.

  • When we've had mice we don't bait the traps with anything. Just position next to the wall that they run along, and they just stumble into them.

They're usually too big to fit on the trap, and they scare the mice off. I'll get my coat ...

Do rats have bigger poo`s?I found tiny little poo`s,thought it was coffee granuals, until I picked it up off the floor. I`m hoping it`s just a smallish mouse as it`s going in my snake`s belly once it`s squashed :D

Everytime I re-read that bit about leaving chocky for the trap I scoff another after eight.
