Replacement Fridge Freezer

I purchased a Daewoo FF in November 2015 on Black Friday. At the time it cost me £629. Nearly two years later and I've an issue with it. Daewoo have been great, sending out an engineer on three separate occasions. Unfortunately due to the fault being intermittent, the engineer has not solved the issue. I have contacted Daewoo who have said that the unit can be replaced and they provided me with an uplift number to supply to Currys.
I have been to Currys today and they have told me that they no longer stock the same model and I therefore have £629 to spend on another FF. The issue is that anything of the same specification is nowhere near that price. Currys also informed me that the uplift number only lasts for three weeks which would then rule out waiting for Black Friday this year.
My question is: should either Daewoo or Currys be replacing my FF with a like for like spec Fridge freezer?
I dont see why I should lose out just because I was savvy enough to do my shopping on black friday. And again, its hardly my fault that they dont stock the same model. I checked the Currys website and despite being out of stock, they were selling the same model for 799. As I would have presumably received one of these had they been in stock, there is still a £170 difference from the initial cost. What are my rights with this? I am yet to contact Daewoo regarding this as I thought it would be good to be armed with the knowledge first.

Sounds like it has been refunded under warranty with the manufacturer rather than your statutory rights with currys. If so, you will be bound by the terms of the warranty.
In order to go the statutory route, currys could ask you to prove the fault was inherent. They could also reduce your refund to take account of use you had of the machine (for nearly 2 years, I'd expect perhaps £350-400 back).
Perhaps speak to currys and ask if they'd be willing to do a cash refund instead but I'd keep in mind the above - that if you insist on going down the legally correct route, you may end up with just a partial refund.You keep using that word. Actually, it sounds like you have been very lucky - although you might not think so! This is why...
Legally, your contract is with Currys and not with Daewoo. Had this been handled through Currys under the Consumer Rights Act, then as per unholyangel's post above - I suspect that you would have had a bit more of a fight on your hands and I doubt that you would have been offered a full refund as you have been (albeit in what is effectively store credit).
It is only because Daewoo have gone above and beyond in terms of customer service (even though your contract is not with them!) that you are in this fortunate position. You have effectively had a fridge freezer free for two years
If you want to be a bit cheeky, you could suggest to Currys that you have saved them money by not claiming from them through the Consumer Rights Act...and that because of that you only feel it right that they contribute towards the cost difference of you having to purchase a replacement model.0
