I want to hire a car at Naples Airport for a week's holiday next April and I am horrified by the numerous posts on a variety of internet websites by punters who have been the victims of 'sharp practice' by the hire companies who operate there. It appears to be a scamming hotspot. Does anyone have any advice or stories to share which might help me? The best of a bad bunch appears to be Hertz, who charge about 20% more than other companies, but I'm wondering if it might be a wise investment.

I hire cars a lot, in the last year I've hired 8 times, all direct with the main companies, I've given up with brokers and the bad companies.

Thorough searching means you can find good prices, I join their frequent hirer club for free and get the quicker pick up, non of this deli counter ticket style queuing.

The experience and service has been good, the cars great and the total cost competitive.
