Almost everyone else is involved in an event this week ,so meetings have been moved. I realise it should be an opportunity to spend some time focused on projects that need it, but mostly I feel like having a nap...3

This is definitely me today - I am so glad I’m not alone!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

I have a nap scheduled in today already - got a late night event so will need that to power me throughDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Work list is now ridiculously long, so I hope I have a burst of energy tomorrow!
Cat chicken cooked and processed, stuff moved from one freezer to another, cork pot feet stuck under pots on patio and more ordered, tape used to seal kitchen sink, and plunger (which also arrived today) used on slow-draining 'fast flow' shower waste, which disgorged a fairly significant hairball. So hopefully that's now it and the flow rate will match that of the shower.

Hearth has arrived, so it and the stove are being fitted on Monday. Flooring samples are being dropped off today so they can be used to set the hearth height.
More cat chicken has been cooked and processed as it was reduced when I went food shopping yesterday.
Bedroom carpet is being fitted on Thursday and the external paintwork being done on Thursday/Friday, so progress is being made and I should be able to at least move the upstairs furniture back and get things tidied up there until decorating in August.
My uncle is downsizing at in the next few months, so needs to get rid of about 60% of his belongings. He's cataloguing them at the moment, and is going to let me have a list of what's going spare in case any of it would be useful. So no need to spend on furnishings until that's sorted.
Today will be more gardening, as my mum is on her way over, apparently with lots of plants evicted from her garden (she's simplifying it). I also have vast numbers of cosmos that I've just taken out of the greenhouse that need planting so I can get the greenhouse sorted out and pot on the 60-odd lavenders that are rapidly outgrowing their modules!7 -
Stove replacement is starting today (now!) with the vent being put in the wall (only small, so it'll fit where the hole is in the back of the bookcase), the old stove, register plate, and hearth being taken out, and the new hearth being laid. The installer is going to see whether he can sell the stove - if not I'll keep it and shove it on FB marketplace at some point. Stove will be installed on Wednesday (hearth needs to set).
Decorator is now coming at the beginning of next week - unsurprisingly the bad weather means he's behind.
Lots of gardening was done over the weekend, so the beds are full of japanese anemones, lily of the valley, cosmos, iris sibirica, and a tree peony seedling and some foxgloves that my mum found in her garden while weeding. Some more weeding has been done here, but there's a LOT more to do. I may also need to redo the spraying as all the rain may well have reduced the effectiveness of the last round I did.5 -
The rain made the spraying here pointless despite checking the weather first!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
That's what I was thinking Watty. I'm hoping that as the forecast is improving I'll have a couple of days of dry and can redo the spraying. Most of the creeping buttercup is looking a bit sad, but there is plenty of hawkweed, dandelions, nettles etc that still need dealing with. Far too much to hand weed.3
