Thanks KC. I am tired. Just having a rest in the middle of doing the ironing. I did manage another couple of bags of garden waste so at least there will be something for the binmen to take! The rest of today's list is fairly short:

    Ironing
Unpack suitcase and put everything away
    Put clean laundry away
    Remake bed
    Pack suitcase for next week
    Find and eat food
    Shut up garage
Get robot to hoover upstairs while I have a bath
    Try to get some sleep

Back home and jet lagged. Managed to have a shower when I got home and have mostly been asleep since, although I'm now dressed and vaguely awake. I had to get up and move as it was starting to hurt, plus I was hungry as all I ate yesterday was 2 slices of toast and jam. (Which is what I also had for breakfast).

I'm home for a week, so need to do a bit of shopping today, but will try to eat from the freezer if possible.

Utility room is finished bar the tiling. Not perfect, but given how much less it cost than if I'd bought it ready-made, I'm happy with it. I just need to have a go at the work surfaces, as they don't appear to have been waxed properly. Hopefully I'll get everything moved back in there over the next few days and can start clearing out the garage. I still have more shrubs, hellebores and primulas to plant, but hopefully can do those a bit at a time.

Need to get the friend back to put up the blinds which have finally arrived, install some waterbutts and put up a post and wire on the bank of the stream but that shouldn't cost too much.

Utility room used up a chunk of this month's bonus, but I've still managed to transfer a decent amount over to savings. Running away fund is doing OK, but kitchen fund is looking a little low.

I need to get upstairs back to normal once the utility room is done, and then paint the dining room furniture. By that point I'll know what actually needs to go into the kitchen.

Must move... need to wake up enough to go out for a friend's birthday this afternoon and buy some milk and yogurt on the way home.

Made it to the birthday celebration (just - I fell asleep and woke up just in time to only be 10 minutes late!) but failed to shop as I was shattered. I appear to have a cold instead of what I thought was an aircon-induced cough, which is annoying.

I've started putting stuff back in the utility room which is taking time as I need to work out what is going where, and find things to put it all in on the shelves. I'm going to need another couple of shelves in one unit - boots, walking boots, running shoes etc are in and the rest of the shelves will hold gloves/scarves/hats/socks and towels/clothes for after running so I can just stick things straight in the WM.

I have a few baskets and crates that I can use to organise stuff on the shelves and in the cupboards, but may need a few more to keep things tidy. Or maybe I can dig through my bags for life to see whether there are any rigid ones that would work.

I want to plant more hellebore too, no such thing as too many.

I finally placed the source of your title. Knew I knew it from somewhere, could have asked but where is the fun in that?

These were from hayloft a few weeks ago. They seem to be doing OK, but probably need to go in the ground soon, as do the primulas and the various shrubs.

Have a vile cold which is mostly dry cough so making my throat sore and giving me a headache. May need to resort to decongestants to make me sleep (the jet lag and muscle ache from too much sitting isn't helping).

Lots of stuff put away in the utility room and a request put in for a couple more shelves to be made. I've even hung up the key to the electricity meter box (which probably means I'll spend ages looking for it...).

Glad you finally found the quote. Does this mean you've been reading?

Always reading :) And Amazon had lots of free L M Montgomery which filled a few evenings last week.

Hayloft is one of those websites that I drool over with a cup of coffee but haven't cracked and bought anything. Yet.

My mum got some stuff from hayloft last year and it's been pretty good. The hellebores were £1 each I think.

Currently re-reading Jennifer Crusie in between sleeping.

Utterly fed up with this flu. Keep thinking I feel better then try to do something - like stand up - and find out I'm not. And the coughing scares me as sometimes it feels like I'm going to choke or stop breathing.

My brother is delivering more fizzy water and throat sweets tomorrow. I did actually manage to put in a waitrose order this evening as well, so will have more tomato soup, white bread, marmite and lemonade as well as vast amounts of bottled water. Not that I'm getting through much food, but at least there will be easy stuff if I do start to want to eat. At the moment I'm making myself eat soup, but the effort involved is significant.

Handyman cancelled for tomorrow, and hair appointment moved. Need to think about cancelling the cleaner and my nail appointment, and make a decision about next week's work travel.

Cleaner and nail appointment cancelled. And Sunday's taxi. Emailed to say I won't be making next week's work trip so I just need to cancel the flights and hotel in the morning.

Bank have been in touch to say my mortgage fix is up in June, and I have the option to switch to a new deal now. The new deal will be more... the question is whether I'm brave enough to hang on until June. It's still a big mortgage, as I haven't managed to OP during this last fix - I haven't even managed to finish the house!

While it provides even more incentive for starting to OP as soon as possible, at the same time I need to get the house finished and keep my emergency fund at a level that gives me some security.

Today's achievement was having a shower... and not before time :)

Oh greenbee :( so sorry to hear you're so ill :( you seem to run about like a mad thing, so I *know* you must be really ill. Having lots of simple snacks in for when you eventually feel like eating is a good idea, even the prospect of not having something then can be stressful in itself.

Little steps - let yourself recuperate before you do anything else. Sleep well.
