I am also exhausted about how much you are getting done
Well done though! This house owning lark seems a lot of hard workDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Impressed by your commitment giving a Labbydor a bath.
No mean feat!2 -

Daughter of Satan ruins off lead walks by rolling. I'm not sure how to stop it?1
-
I have no idea either - he's only done it once (well twice, but the second time was manageable with a quick wash of the affected area!
He does stick pretty close and I make sure he's constantly coming back to check in with me. Although if he wanted to roll I'm not sure I'd get to him in time to stop him. TBH I think he's mostly too busy with smells and sticks and making sure I haven't vanished (he's a bit of a mummy's boy still!).3 -
Aww Babydog is also a mummy's boy. It is Daughter of Satan who rolls, much more independent!1

Stinky has been VERY good today - he's worked out the whistle for recall. Which is nice, as he disembowelled his bed two days ago and thought about it yesterday.
Plasterer is here. Hate the mess, but he's quiet, and it'll be nice to have all the holes filled in. Just waiting for carpet samples to be picked up and confirm my selection so bedroom carpets can be booked in. Cats are furious as he's been plastering round the cat flap, which is in their space.
Gardener is clearing space and digging a hole to line with slabs for the fig tree. There should then be enough space to plant the fruit bushes and rhubarb as well. Hopefully I'll get some garden time over the weekend.
The DNO have given me permission for an additional 5kW of solar/battery export, which is good news, so the electrician is finalising the design and getting the scaffolders organised ready to book it in.
So lots of progress, and getting stuff back in the bedrooms (at least until the decorator arrives on May 5th) will make a huge difference. There's still lots to do, but hopefully i'll be able to concentrate more on outside for a bit.4 -
I have an outside shower installed for the horses which is super useful for rolling smelly dogs! WattyDog hates being showered but I tell him warm water is so much nicer than the alternative. (The shower unit itself is in a barn but it connects to an outside tap that I fit a shower hose attachment, and the heat source is just calor gas - I saw some very expensive pink and blue lovely ones but worked out they were the same as the £30 options on bay of e that did not have the lovely pretty colours!)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
Thanks Watty... Very timely, as he managed to get something stinky on himself on today's walk (it was wet, and didn't look like poo or rotting animal, but definitely stank), so had shampoo, then ketchup, then shampoo ALL with freezing cold water from the hose. I'm not entirely convinced the smell is gone, and he's now getting his thicker adult coat too!
I keep hoping he'll work out that rolling in something stinky = bath. Although once the cold shower is over he likes the getting dry bitI'm not so keen.
Plasterer is done. Not sure he's done a great job on the fiddly stuff, but we'll see. Hopefully the decorator will fix it, although the hall is a long way off!
One more meeting, then I'm done for the day. Although there's a lot to catch up on, and my desk is still gritty so will need a sort out early next week.3 -
Utility room is back to normal - cats would have moved out otherwise. Hall is partly done. Half a dozen towels from the CS have been washed twice and had an extra rinse and are on the line and stayiing there - they stink of strongly scented detergent.
Very tired. Lots to do tomorrow - I need to sort out a frozen kong for stinky (we've run out) as I'm out for lunch, then pot up some bulbs as a present for the friend whose birthday lunch it is. And then get as much of the plaster dust and residue out of the house as possible before I go out.4
