Carpet is done, and it all looks so much better! I need to hang the curtains, work out how far I need to move the curtain hooks to get them hanging properly, take them down, and then rehang them...

Cats (and dog) have been driving me nuts. Cats finally annoyed me enough that I removed the tatty old chair (which they of course love) from the utility room where it gets in the way and shoved it in the garage as there is room now that the piles of carpet are gone. It looks MUCH better. The garage is still a tip, but has a lot less in it, so I should manage to tidy it at some point. 

Tomorrow I need to do some food shopping (mostly for the dog as I'm out of stuff for his kongs and lick mats, and pretty much out of kongs and lick mats), and prep the muntjac in the fridge to go in the freezer. I also need to order more frozen dog food. 

Bill has arrived for the septic tank work, so need to pay that. And have also messaged builder to ask whether he can seal up the faulty trickle vent, or send me instructions as to what to do. Dishwasher is playing up, but I don't have the energy to deal with it at the moment. I've managed to fix it temporarily and just have to hope it will behave itself for a bit longer!

Have found the source of the leak - there's a huge gap above the window frame. So I need someone with a longer ladder than I have to go up there with frame sealant as a temporary fix. 

One sack of soft plastics has been deposited at the recycling point and another one is in the car for the next visit.

I wish ours did, I need to drop ours off at the supermarket and I need to recycle glass at the bottle bank as our council stopped doorstep glass collection over 15 years ago.

We have the nasty habit with the soft recycling of taking it to the car and then totally forgetting about it...until we throw the next bagful i there...and repeat! I think the record was 3 bags in there at one stage! 

Decent trickle vents seem to be OK - the ones we had on the windows at the flat were great - they closed pretty solidly so we just closed them in cold/windy weather and opened there when it was better conditions. I suspect most window fitters just use cheap ones though!

We think we've found the source of the problem, which is a gap above the frame. So it's going to be temporarily sealed tomorrow and lots of photos taken. We'll assess the damage properly in the spring. 

I have wooden windows (not top of the range, we thing they were probably top of the builders' merchant's range) with nasty plastic trickle vents. I left lovely bespoke wooden windows with no trickle vents at my last house

Lots of frame sealant has been applied to the windows, so hopefully there will be no more water coming in. Outside clock is also up on the wall, and the solar panel for the security camera that's a PITA to get up and down to charge - it won't get that much sun except in the middle of summer, but I'm hoping if I charge it up, it'll be enough to keep it up and running. 

Lots of changes at work, which means it's very busy, but I've only got three working days left this year (assuming I get my sick note sorted) so there's a limit to what I can do. 

Dog came home from daycare yesterday with a cut paw, so yesterday evening was spent at the vet, and today has been keeping him quiet and keeping his bandage dry. We're off to the vet again first thing tomorrow. Luckily he likes it there. I'm not so keen...

Stinky's paw is healing well. He's not impressed by all the inside time though. He's got another bandage on and goes back for another checkup on Monday. He'll got to my mum's on Thursday and spend a few days with her while I'm away instead of staying at daycare full time and playing with his friends.

He had a lovely time at the vets. I suggested they offer boarding - they suggested he work on reception  

Lovely and sunny, but no walk or garden for us today, so I'll have to think about how to keep him entertained without extra food (having said that, he and Fatty have just had a chicken wing each). I believe Stripey cat is out in the freezing cold sunshine.

I might go and put a few more things away upstairs, and maybe get the new robot out and test it.

Aw hope Stinky's paw heals. My little doggy used absolutely love the vets! I thought - I wish we felt the same way about drs and dentists 🤭🤣.
