Any thoughts on keeping it all on one platform? I was considering spreading the potential risk by moving some stuff over to I web, bit put off by lack of choice of funds.

Its something I have thought about but decided if I stick to the main platforms I am not to concerned. I currently use Aviva and Youinvest but the Aviva platform doesn't have all the funds I want and is also slightly more expensive of fees.

I have money on 3 platforms, but it's got nothing to do with choice or worrying about risk of default etc.

I have a 30 year old guaranteed annuity with an insurance company that has withdrawal and transfer restrictions so it just sits there and accumulates...4.6% is this years rate.

I have an old retirement account on another platform because it allows penalty free withdrawal at any age after I stopped working for that employer and also has an immediate access savings account that has 2.5% interest right now, so I use it to store emergency cash.

The vast majority of my money is with Vanguard and invested in 3 broad Vanguard index trackers. I have no transaction fees or platform charges and just pay the fund fees. Because of Vanguard's structure I have no worries about fund/platform risk. On the US Vanguard platform I can buy any stock, bond or fund sold in the US, but I don't bother and just stick to low cost Vanguard trackers.
