So how is everyone tracking their portfolio. I started with Trustnet last year until I realised that I couldn't edit or remove holdings and still keep the history. Then I moved to the Youinvest tools (same as Morningstar I think) which work well. However now I am going to start making contributions in again from my company. How do I do that easily? Youinvest doesn't let me pick two dates and work out the percentage again, which would make it easy.
I use Trustnet portfolio. One problem with that is that it doesnt include dividends. Not a major issue (<1%/year) with Linton Growth but it does significantly undervalue Linton WP with its high % of ITs.0 -

The charts in Trustnet can include dividends reinvested. Could that be used to calculate the percentage change?0 -

On a spreadsheet. Maintain a record of trades in each holding. Monitor ex dividend dates and accrue income as appropriate at the end of every month. I then run a fantasy portfolio through my share dealing account to capture the value.0 -
I use a spreadsheet, Trustnet and Morningstar.
If I remember correctly the returns part of spreadsheet was based on a Monevator article on unitised returns.
I use a Morningstar transaction portfolio to record all transactions. My understanding is that the personal return on performance tab is return taking into account transactions/timing. There is also a facility to record dividends though I'm mainly in acc units so haven't used it.

I mainly keep the Trustnet portfolio populated for graphing comparison of portfolio with specific funds and for graphing all constituents0 -
My needs are basic so I’ve used Trustnet exclusively over the years.0

Can I add a passive multi-asset portfolio retrospectively to the contest? I promise I did not make/adjust this portfolio based on the market performance of the last 4 years.
Mr. Saver's Multi-Asset Portfolio
The objective of this portfolio is to invest in a wide range of asset classes via index funds and aiming to achieve an annualised return of 5% above UK inflation as measured by CPI over rolling 10 years periods, a positive return over rolling 4 years periods, and no more than 25% loss over any calendar year. There is no guarantee that those aims will be achieved. The appropriate benchmarks are Morningstar GBP Moderate Allocation and Trustnet AFI Balanced.
The asset allocations (ordered by weights):
35% US Equity
25% Gold
10% Global or US Property
10% UK Equity
10% UK Gilts
5% Japan Equity
5% Broad-basket Commodity
For the purpose of the contest, I've picked the following 7 widely available index funds:
iShares US Equity Index (UK) D Acc
iShares Physical Gold ETC GBP
iShares Global Property Securities Equity Index (UK) D Acc
iShares UK Equity Index (UK) D Acc
iShares UK Gilts All Stocks Index (UK) D Acc
iShares Japan Equity Index (UK) D Acc
