Where do you get this nonsense from. Fair wear & tear means exactly that, the sort of wear & tear that's reasonable given the age of the car. You do realise the majority of ex-financed cars are sold on via auction.

That nonsense is from the ****ing skoda finance terms and conditions from the page that defines fair wear and tear. Read the discussion before adding your 2 cents.

seat belt knob you really do not make any sense
  • Wow this has escalated a lot hasn't it.

I haven't mentioned at all that I cant pay for the repair myself, despite supposedly being a !!!!less, debt junkie, apparently living well beyond my means i do have the money to pay for a repair.

However, I don't feel I should be paying out for damaged on my car caused by someone elses lack of common sense by not putting bins back correctly.

If the shoe was on the other foot then I would make sure I put my neighbour back in the position he was before the incident.

You are ignoring the fact that you would be doing that as your choice - your insurer would not be paying your neighbour a penny over such an incident!

Likewise you have no legal grounds to expect anything from your neighbour!
