What colour would you say this wall is?

I went to IKEA and fell in love with this room. Love the dark furniture and colour of walls. Trying to figure out the colour of the wall.... It looks like a mix between a grey and a brown to me.... But my sense of colour is awful ....

From where I'm sitting it's a grey, medium dark.

Nope, I'm seeing more brown than grey.
Have you looked at the fired earth archive colours. Scarab or antique earth?

This looks very close but a tad too brown in my eyes.

Get some colour charts and go back and hold them against the wall - you won't get very close trying to match a photo and colours online as they'll look different depending on your screen.

  • Would it be a shade of taupe, there are several different shades of taupe on the B & Q website.

Our living room is two shades of taupe but both are fairly pale.

Why not ask Ikea what paint they used?

To check a colour properly, use a sheet of white paper, cut out a square about the size of your thumb (I know you don't have square thumbs!) and hold that against the wall, it's amazing the difference it makes to one's perception.

Grey is the new beige, so I suppose one could go with battleship grey (bonus if you live next to a naval shipyard).

The colour of the lighting can also make a big difference to the perceived colour of the paint. The image the OP posted looks like there is warm white lighting - This might account for the slightly brown hue.
