What do you think to Belkin?

I bought a Netgear , it was a dud , but I was probably just unlucky.

Helped a neighbour set up a Belkin a few weeks ago (can't remember model). It came with a USB adapter as well which was handy for an old laptop they had in the house as well as their desktop. All worked fine.

I do actually have a Belkin which I bought when I found out the Netgear didn't work. I was just asking cos I wondered if it was considered by comicmankev to be a budget model or not.

Mine seems to be working well icon14.gif. No problems with it although it took me a while to set it up , but that's only cos I didn't have a clue what I was doing

Now that you do know what you are doing, I'll send Pink in your direction then if she buys the Belkin :rotfl:

According to the blurb on PCW it says it takes about 3 minutes to install and run...yeah right :o

Belkin are a pretty good, name, but I cannot comment on quality because I have never used them.

Of course, you could buy the one linked at the bottom of this message then rent your broadband to all your neighbours at about £5/£10 a month! They have a bargain and they will be paying you! A good price from PCworld too!

    I'm looking at this one.

Just need something basic, so that I can use the laptop in a comfy chair while the kids use the pc. Preferably something uncomplicated to set up as I am very very technically challenged, as Edinburghlass will testify....

Yesterday I got broadband. Edinburghlass phones to see if I've managed to set it up........

    Ed'lass: Well is it working?

    Pink: Yes it's great!

Ed'lass: Are you sure it's working?

Pink: Yes, of course it is!........I'm at the pc, talking to you on the phone aren't I?

Ed'lass: Are you sure that you're still connected while you're talking to me on the phone?

    Pink: sighs Yes I'm sure.

    Pink checks connection.........long silence

    Pink: Well........errrrrrrrr.......you may be right..

After much rumaging, untangling of wires and attempting to describe various thingumy wotsits........turns out I have forgotten to disconnect dial up lead  :o

Many thanks to Edinburghlass for all her help :T

    Pink
