Do Natwest offer a different cheque book for Private customers?
I have a standard cheque book but wondered if there was a different one available.

Yes, basically it's the same as the normal nat west one but with the extra "private" on it. I have one that they sent in error, it's not impressiveMake £10 a day challenge in Feb £325.82/£280

Surely anyone who wishes to appear wealthy would actually bank with a private bank rather than use a "commoners" bank with a private labelled chequebook?0

could it be that the private banks have got wind of timewasters who only appear to be wealthy, and have developed checks to weed them out at the first hurdle? The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
I used to bank with Handelsbanken - very good but sadly offered poor online services. This was about 6 years ago.
I also banked with Investec PB but didn't really want to pay the fee.
Unfortunately sometimes it helps to have the Private word written on a cheque / debit card as you do get better service at some places IMHO.0 -

As is Natwest private banking.
Basically its a rip off service offering low quality investment options at very high cost. And in its place, you get a slightly different name on your paperwork.
People with real wealth would not use a retail bank private banking service if they knew how much they were being fleeced.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). 'Private Banking' with High St banks is just a ruse to make you feel good about yourself.
A bit like gold credit cards when they came out. Then when everyone had a gold card they introduced the platinum card......0 -
In the spirit of this being a money saving site I would recommend you save money and leave private banking, and spend some of the savings on buying an inkstamp with 'private banking' written on it to stamp your cheques.0

I don't know of any establishments that would still accept a cheque and staff are not normally permitted to handle a customer's debit card any more so would not normally see it.0
